    FREELANCE SENIOR DESIGNER

  • DESIGN LEAD: 2021 – 2024

I was promoted to Design Lead from Senior Digital Designer in 2021. During this time I have had the opportunity to create and grow the design team from the ground up, hiring a Senior Designer and Picture Editor, as well as sourcing and managing several creative freelancers.

I have created a space for my team where we support and collaborate with each other and maintain a structured environment where we implement processes and workflows creating boundaries so our design can flourish.

I enjoy being part of a team where we both succeed and fail together, we learn from each other to evolve. I actively encourage the team to share and explore their ideas, giving them time to create, embrace their strengths, and manage their weaknesses.

Establishing, creating, and delivering high-quality visual designs for editorial, marketing, and commercial projects while adhering to the Condé Nast design style.

Managing and evolving the Vogue Business design house style through colour, typography, movement, and data visualisation. Translating complex briefs under tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.

    SENIOR DIGITAL DESIGNER: 2019 - 2021

I joined Vogue Business for their launch in January 2019. During this time I supported the Creative Lead to develop the brand from start-up mode into a recognised Condé Nast title.

With strong competition it was essential for us to create a brand that was confident and distinctive, our USP was to be more informative to our audience than our competitors, giving them insights others could not. We successfully achieved this by creating impactful data and infographics presented in an eye-catching way with a consistent identity throughout.

As the team grew the demand for new creative in the business increased, and we developed branding and identities for podcasts, commercials, advisory, and events. The pandemic required us to be agile and fast-thinking to continue providing value to our paying members but in alternative ways. As a digital-only brand, we worked together to find innovative ways to do this with visual and audio at the forefront of our thinking.

  • MIDWEIGHT DIGITAL DESIGNER:

    SEPTEMBER 2017 – JANUARY 2019

Working in tandem with the Senior UI/UX designer we created and delivered all digital content for e-commerce, marketing, and social channels.

We translated seasonal campaigns into creative solutions, bringing them to life across multi-digital platforms. As a fast-paced business there would often be larger, core campaigns running alongside more responsive ones such as viral moments like a trending topic, constant communication was required to ensure we met deadlines and deliverables whilst maintaining best-in-class standards.

  • MIDWEIGHT DIGITAL DESIGNER

    DECEMBER 2014 – AUGUST 2017

My role at New Look was primarily working across social and marketing. I was responsible for content creation for key owned and paid platforms, digital advertising, and social for both UK and international markets.

I regularly worked with external advertising clients such as JCDecaux, InSkin Media, and Clear Channel to create digital takeovers and OOH creatives used throughout the UK.

During our Christmas campaign ANGELS X ROBOTS, we were one of the first companies to use a geofilter with Snapchat as well as have exclusive ownership of Twitter’s most valuable advertising spots for 24 hours. Mentions reached 4X the company’s average during this campaign. I was incredibly proud to be part of this moment, creating digital content for social platforms, in-store, and marketing.

I was also involved in producing bespoke content, working closely with the in-house photographer to produce beautiful shoots to use across multi-digital platforms.

  • JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER

    OCTOBER 2008 – AUGUST 2012

My first taste out of uni and into the design world. This role was very varied and provided invaluable experience for my future in design.
